Saudi Arabia to suspend the BlackBerry service starts on Friday

Saudi Arabia's telecommunications regulator, on Tuesday said it has ordered the temporary suspension of BlackBerry services starting on Friday because the manufacturers had failed to meet its demands.

Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said that "given the BlackBerry service does not currently meet the criteria of commission regulations and license conditions," in a statement carried by SPA news agency.

It is said that he had requested the three providers in the kingdom to suspend the BlackBerry service starts on Friday after giving them a grace period to ask the manufacturer of the device, Research In Motion (RIM), in order to "meet the demands of regulation."
